Conformation of the old-style German Shepherd
German shepherd look should be as it was when the bred was founded! The picture below is typical of that look and is what I am striving for. In both American and German show lines the slant of the back, the dropping of pasterns and the pigeon toed feet are awful, but even worse the deep chest without width of body causes more then just bone problems. Please- people stop ruining our breed for the sake of trotting pretty in a show ring.
