AKC Breeder of Merit
Has a history of at least 5 years involvement with AKC events.
Earned at least 4 Conformation, Performance or Companion event titles on dogs they bred/co-bred.
Member of an AKC club.
Certifies that applicable health screens are performed on your breeding stock as recommended by the Parent Club.
Demonstrates a commitment to ensuring 100% of the puppies produced are AKC registered.
As of 2011, I have over 20 obedience titled German Shepherd dogs that I have bred, that I know of. I have no champion conformation dogs so the merit is from obedience titleing alone.
Below is an Iowa breeders licence "not Federal" those are gotten by puppy mills or breeders with several breeds and over 50 dogs .. the state hoddy breeders license in much more strict anyone with more then three breeding dogs(male or female )must have one in the state of Iowa. Some states especially in the south require no liscence at all for even large amounts of dogs. I believe this may be why there are so many puppy mills in Missouri and the southern US in general..
and much harder to get and more inspections are required. A shame, I know- but that is the way it works the small breeder is under much more scrutiny then the large puppy mills. the fee is
